Adventure Studio
Upper Elementary
Ages 7 years through age 11 (equivalent to 2nd through 5th grades in a traditional school)
The purpose of Adventure Studio is
- to develop self-awareness and independence through reflective processes and freedom within boundaries,
- to discover a joy for learning through a balanced learning design, and
- to ignite curiosity through a wide range of challenges and experiences.
Our learning design focuses on the following:
Character: Hard work & Curiosity, Goal Setting, Community building & Conflict Management.
Core Skills: Project based exploration in all subjects, while taking on a more structured rigor of math, reading & writing.
Our adventure learners keep building on foundational skills as they continue to discover more of who they are as a person. We encourage an even deeper sense of personal responsibility with our adventure learners. We create space to allow healthy debate and collaboration. This allows our learners to develop self awareness and humility while also understanding a greater sense of what they are called to do. Our Adventure children take the next steps in learning physics, math, advanced technology, public discourse, and in language and communication. Learners are able to identify their unique gifts and talents and learn the interpersonal skills needed to succeed in the 21st century.
